History of the School
The idea for the project was born a few years ago and was given the name El Mundo de los Niños (The World of the Children) by Efraín Méndez Tz´unún who gave the project a start since he realized that children are our present and our future and had teaching experience in the communities of San Martin. Rogelio became involved in the project while he was doing a diagnostic study of the region and different social situations. He noticed, among many other needs was that the most extreme poverty was caused by a lack of individual education and preparation. During his investigation he realized the improtance of educating children and youth. The project was named Conocimiento para Todos when Edwin de Boer from Holland decided to help the project and thought that education should be available to all. Currently we do not have adequate facilities to realize all the activities and goals of the project. Rogelio has dedicated the last year to this humanitarian project thanks to the support from the children, members of the community and donors. He has helped educate and orient 9 students in environmental education. In 2006, withthe help of some friends from the Unided States we recieved some school supplies like pens and notbooks for each student so they can begin their training and education.
Rogelio is currently working in the field of tourism but has a degree to teach primary school and Spanish language. He has also studied in California where he learned IT skills, developed his English proficiency and gained agricultral experience. Since he has had such diverse experiences he would like to use them to help develop his community.
